Global Perspectives on Women’s Rights: An Evening with Kara Dansky
Women Speak Australia is pleased to present an evening with American feminist, lawyer, author, and public speaker Kara Dansky to Tasmania as part of her Australian speaking tour.
Drawing on her experience in law, public policy, and women’s rights advocacy, Kara will discuss how women are defending and advancing women’s rights around the world, the challenges facing women and girls in different countries, and the importance of international dialogue on issues affecting women.
This special event offers a unique opportunity to hear firsthand from one of the United States’ leading women’s rights advocates and to engage in thoughtful discussion about developments affecting women globally.
About Kara Dansky
Kara Dansky is an American feminist, lawyer, author, and public speaker. She has published books on women’s rights and has written and spoken extensively on issues affecting women and girls.
Kara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
How Women Are Fighting for Women’s Rights Globally
Across the world, women are organising, advocating, and engaging in public debate on issues affecting their rights, opportunities, safety, and participation in society.
Drawing on developments in the United States and internationally, Kara will explore the challenges women face, the strategies being used to address them, and the importance of ensuring women’s voices remain part of democratic conversations.

The evening will conclude with an audience question-and-answer session, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with Kara and explore the topics discussed during the presentation.
